OPINION - Do look up
When I’m asked ‘what are you working on?’ my answer at the moment is consistently ‘projects that look ahead’. It seems that the majority of brands and publishers are moving from the ‘day to day’ to seriously preparing for the future.
You don’t need me to tell you just how much change there is, and how many moving parts there are, but it has been very fun to think strategically about the forthcoming changes and what they might mean for different types of companies lately.
Inspiration
It was also really kind of Mars to share on their LinkedIn something we’ve been working on with them to inspire their global marketing department. I love projects like these where the focus is on challenging existing thinking but in a practical way.
Custom Algo’s
I wrote previously about algorithm’s replacing traders and recently I was fortunate to sit down and record a podcast with Ali and Tylynn from Chalice, a specialist custom algorithm company. Ali put it really nicely when she said “custom algorithms don’t do what a trader does, they do what a trader can’t do” and that’s the best way I’ve ever heard it explained. It’s a really nice 30 minute podcast which I highly recommend listening to (of course I would say this).
